ABOUT THE FOUNDER
INA NIINIKETO
Aplomb was born from a lifelong passion. Ina's fascination with perfumery began in her childhood and continued to evolve alongside a 17-year career in the restaurant industry. Now creating a fragrance brand marks a new chapter, where culinary craftsmanship and creative intuition come together to form a contemporary luxury brand and figurative scents blended with the same sensibility as flavors in fine dining gastronomy.
Ina's childhood dream was to become a perfumer, which was remarkable since there wasn't a single professional perfumer from her home country Finland. Her memories are always intertwined with scents. She experimented with her first fragrances as a child, mixing rose petals and other flowers in water in her childhood's home backyard in Germany, curious about what would emerge. As a teenager, she spent countless hours in perfume shops, exploring and collecting fragrances.
Beyond perfumes, Ina has always had a love for food and cooking. At the age of 16, she began culinary studies in Helsinki and has since worked in the best restaurants across Finland, Sweden and Germany. She has authored two cookbooks, created recipes for food magazines, hosted two podcasts, and immersed herself in culinary culture in various ways. In 2021, she opened her first restaurant.
Food and perfume share many similarities - creativity, joy and pleasure. We also have only five basic tastes: salty, sweet, sour, bitter, and umami. All other flavors are essentially derived from scents, creating a perfect tasting experience. Ina often searches for inspiration for her dishes from perfumes, particularly desserts.
With her childhood dream of being a perfumer lingering in her mind, she began exploring how she could study perfumery and was eager to learn more. She participated in several online trainings, was learning about raw materials and the industry in greater detail. This led her to understand just how demanding the profession is, recognizing that it takes time to reach the top in it. So she decided that instead of becoming a perfumer, she could create beautiful fragrances in another way - by building a brand and working with the best people in the industry, creating together fragrances she always dreamed of.
